Who are Respect Capital?
Sean Horton is the founder, owner and editor of Respect Capital.
He has been involved in financial services and mortgages since 1988 and has been both an independent financial adviser and whole of market mortgage broker.
Previously a fully qualified CeMap mortgage broker himself, Sean is driven to make people aware of just how much benefit they will receive from engaging with a specialist broker.
While we are not a firm of qualified brokers, you will find that the quality of our site, and the information within it, matches up to the standards expected of an FCA regulated broker.
Sean lives in Kent and is also a small business owner and a buy to let landlord with over 20 years experience.
He has contributed to trade articles and national press and now regularly writes about commercial finance, mortgages and property investment to help readers better understand their options.

Our free service matches you to the type of broker who is best suited for your individual needs. Any broker that we deal with must be highly experienced and fully independent of all lenders, giving clients the maximum amount of choice.
Sean’s past experience as a broker gives him a deep insight into the inner workings of brokers and intermediaries. This allows him to choose only the best brokers to assist our readers.
Sourcing commercial finance
There’s an enormous amount of depth and breadth to the commercial finance market.
There’s a lot more than meets the eye!
Getting the right solution, or a great deal, often relies on relationships and partnerships between specialist brokers and lenders, banks and other institutions.
This isn’t something you can just Google or pickup in the high street.
The majority of these specialised lenders won’t even deal direct with the borrowers. All enquiries must come through a trusted broker partner, who will have spoken to the client and made an appraisal on the best course of action.
So if you would like access to these lending solutions please call us on 0330 030 5050 for an initial chat.
FCA regulation
Unlike a mortgage on your home, business and commercial mortgages are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
This means there are fewer protections in place for commercial borrowers compared to residential borrowers.
So when you are taking out bridging or commercial finance always check that you are dealing with a reputable lender.

Mortgages
Need a mortgage rather than a commercial loan?
You need to visit Respect Mortgages, this is our sister site that caters for residential mortgages, investment mortgages and equity release. We work only with fully qualified and experienced independent mortgage brokers who can handle the more complex type of mortgage situations.
